VEHICLE SETUP AND SPECIFICATIONS
One of the main reasons Spaceships are better than ordinary rental vans comes back to the unique customised design which makes it easy to set up and not reliant on ‘powered sites’.

Along with the fold-away cooker, hidden (yet easily accessed) storage, ceiling mounted DVD screen, fold out table and chairs (all which you can read more about in the other feature sections) – we came up with two other unique design features:

Swivel Seat Design
Maximising space is important is you want to fit a full double bed and provide good storage space – yet still have seating for four and an internal table and chairs.

Recharging the Battery
Can you watch DVDs at night and still start your Spaceship in the morning? Where can we recharge the battery?
Don’t worry – in a Spaceship this isn’t a problem as we have a dual battery system!

ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE
Spaceships are regularly maintained and serviced however it’s important to know that if anything ever did go wrong (i.e. you leave lights on and battery goes flight) you have access to 24 hour roadside assistance.

BOND WAIVER OPTION
As you may have read on our Insurance Page all Spaceships hired are insured in case of an accident or loss of contents: This covers the cost of damage to Third Party property or to the rented vehicle, including single vehicle accident, towing and recovery costs, fire or vandalism. The insurance excludes damage to the roof and under-body of the vehicle, and damage to the tyres and glass.

As the hirer of a Spaceship you are responsible for the excess on each insurance claim.
A bond is required of AUD$3000. This means that you are liable for up to this amount for any damage that you cause to the vehicle.

An option to reduce your excess is to pay a non-refundable Full or Half cover option. 
This will reduce the bond and is on a per incident basis. If an accident occurs a new insurance option will be required for the remaining days of your hire. This means that you must report any incident to Spaceships Ltd as soon as it happens.

For example, 7 days hire x $30 per day = $140 for Full Cover (no bond)
Accident occurs day 3, to be eligible for insurance of the remainder of the period another 4 days is payable.
E.g. Customer would need to pay an extra $120 (4 days x $30 per day) to have Full Cover/bond on the remaining period.
Full or Half Cover does not cover a single vehicle accident, articles, appliances and fixtures inside the Spaceship unless in the case of a motor accident. If drivers are under the age of twenty-five they are still eligible for the bond waiver. A credit card imprint is required on all rental agreements (even with a bond waiver this covers deliberate damage, late returns and traffic infringements) and must be the credit card of the main hirer unless prior arrangements have been made.

DRIVERS 25 AND OVER 
AUD$30 per day = Full Cover Nil bond / excess
AUD$10 per day = Half Cover $750 bond / excess

DRIVERS AGED 18 -24 
AUD$30 per day = Full cover Nil deposit / excess
AUD$15 per day = Half cover $1000 deposit / excess

Full or Half Cover will not cover any water related damage such as vehicle submersion, creek or river crossing, beach driving and driving through low plain flooded areas. You will also be fully liable to the vehicle or a third party if you breach the terms of the rental contract; if you drive under the influence of alcohol or drugs; if damage is caused by careless or wilful conduct; or if you drive on restricted roads.
