Introductory Scuba Dive
Never scuba dived before? No worries – an introductory scuba dive in Byron Bay will teach you all the basic skills needed to explore the underwater world. You’ll joined an experienced and certified instructor who will run you through everything in the heated pool, making sure you’re feeling confident before heading out to Julian Rocks.
They’ll be by your side throughout the dive and you can reach a max depth of 12m.

Introductory Dive;
Whats Included:
-This course takes approximately 5 hours to complete. The course includes equipment hire, one swimming pool lesson and one dive at the Julian Rocks Marine Reserve with an instructor.
-All confined water training is conducted at the dive shop, an instructor training facility, located in the heart of Byron Bay. Here we have a fully equipped classroom and a training pool heated to 25 degrees Celsius.
-If you have always wanted to try scuba diving this is the course for you, no experience is neccessary.
Our Dive Site: Julian Rocks
Here the reserve is home to three different species of sea turtle, an assortment of rays including mantas, hard and soft corals, friendly wobbygong sharks and over four hundred different species of fish. All of this is only a five-minute boat ride from Byron Bay.
What to bring: Swim suit & towel, Dive certification.
– Please note that we require a mininmum of 2 people to be booked at each time for the Introductory Dive to run*.
*We can run an Introdcutory Dive for 1 person at an extra charge of $65.00 per person

Daily at 6.30am, 9.30am and 12.30pm*

The Byron Bay Dive Centre caters for all levels of diving experience. Join one of our guided dive trips and let our dive crew show you one of Australia’s most spectacular dive sites.
Whether you are an experienced diver, recently certified or haven’t dived for some time we will ensure you enjoy a safe and rewarding diving experience at Julian Rocks.
We provide all equipment hire (if required), the boat ride (on which we frequently see dolphins) and a dive guide to show you around on a dive of up to 50 minutes.
When you return to the dive shop there are hot showers and our dive crew will help you fill out your logbooks and identify some of the creatures you saw.
Meeting time:
Daily at 8.00am, 11.00am and 2.00pm
Return:
Approx 2.5 to 3 hours
– Underwater digital camera hire for $45.00, all the photos and videos will be burnt to a CD after the tour.

Please note that we have a 48 hour cancellation policy. This means that if you need to cancel or change a booking for any reason, we need to know 48 hours before the activity is due to commence. If cancellation or change is made after that time, we charge a 100% cancellation fee. If this is a problem, please contact us immediately.
Please note that if you have not dived in 12 months or more you will be required to complete a refresher course prior to the dive, please contact us immediately to arrange this (24 hours notice is required).
