12 Day Cambodia Monkey Ladder Tour With Tru Travels

ARRIVAL IN PHNOM PENH

We will either pick you up from the airport or meet you at the hostel and introduce you to the crew. You’ll have the day to chill and get settled or explore the city get to know the rest of the group in the evening over a few drinks in the bar and get ready to jump on the bus the following day to begin the adventure.

SIHANOUKVILLE

The first stop on the tour is Sihanoukville, a land of of beaches, islands and parties. In Sihanoukville we stay in a nice hotel (with a pool) near the main beach for two nights, hit the beach bars for one or two cocktails by evening (they have 50cent beers!), and start the tour with a bang joining a backpacker booze cruise around the islands. We then hop over to the tropical island paradise of Koh Rong Samloem on day four for the next two nights.

KOH RONG SAMLOEM

On the amazingly beautiful & secluded island of Koh Rong Samloem we stay at the newest Mad Monkey Hostel right on the beach. Here we spend two days as true beach bums, you can choose to chill on the luscious white sand, sip cocktails at the bar or soak up the rays! Whilst on Koh Rong Samloem we’ll also have a special beach bbq and fire show night on us and take a boat cruise around the island to hit up some awesome snorkelling spots, try some fishing and kick back in the crystal clear turquoise waters!

KAMPOT

Leaving the island by boat in the morning, we then catch a minibus ride to the great little town of Kampot. Staying at an awesome Mad Monkey backpackers right in the center of town, we can spend the day chilling by the pool or exploring, we’ll go for some world famous ribs and also spend a day by the river, rafting, tubing, knee or wake boarding, playing on rope swings, pontunes and the blob! Yet another destination with amazing natural surroundings, yet very different from the island/beach feel of the others. Our pals at Mad Monkey can also arrange some optional (extra) activities if you’re feeling adventurous.

BACK TO PHNOM PENH

Arriving back in the capital by private mini bus, we get checked into the Mad Monkey Hostel for a second time! We will explore the city a little this time, visiting Wat Phnom and one of the many markets, before heading out for a unique dining experience at Dine in the Dark. Whilst in the city, tradition dictates that we take a tour to the historical and eye opening site of the Khmer Killing Fields and S21. Two historical land marks which shine some light on Cambodia’s chilling and not too distant history. On the second evening we will jump on a charity pub crawl run by our partners at Mad Monkey Hostels and show you some of the cities nightlife.

SIEM REAP & ANGKOR WAT

On day 10 we hop back on our mini bus from Phnom Penh to Siem Reap, home of the awe inspiring Angkor Wat temple ruins (where they filmed Tomb Raider – and one of the man made wonders of the world). We take a pre sunrise tuk tuk ride to the temple complex so that we can watch the sun come up over the 1000 year old main temple. Our trip comes to an end in this magical place and we hit up the famous Pub Street in Siem Reap for one last party to cap off a trip of a lifetime!
